A little story for the skeptics. A woman, I’ll call her V, used to work for BC, for years. Soso arrives and V is suddenly fired because she dares to call a spade a spade. V works for a close friend of BC, she gives good advices but quits when he does exactly what BC did. V now works for another friend of BC, not a famewhore one this time. Soso hates V so much but V isn’t afraid, BC tries to see V again but she refuses to even speak to him and avoids him. BC lost a good friend and realises it now
Interesting. I know something similar has happened with people in his life, but I didn’t here about this specifically, that I know of. (At least the working for other friends of his part). And what you describe regarding Zero’s attitude and behavior towards V is textbook for someone with NPD. My advice to V? Maybe start talking to Benedict again, but don’t accept the situation. In other words, continue to call a Spade a Spade, and a coward a coward. Allowing Zero to isolate him from anyone who sees through her bullshit only HELPS Zero.
Ditto. Could it be Viki Zaza? IIRC VZ was an academic though and it sounds like this V works in PR so SoFail needed to get her out of the way in order to do as she pleased. BC may have acquiesced to her demands out of fear. Thing is he was a rookie when it came to dealing with narcs, because you never give in or they will isolate and then methodically destroy you. With HCPs it’s all about boundaries and standing your ground…

Good afternoon Skippy! I hope this Sunday is treating you well and you are enjoying – hopefully – a beautifully sunny day in Canada.
I am very humbled to have so many people interested in what I am saying and what I say about PR. I know there will be more questions that you’ve been asked than I can answer here, but I just thought I’d make sure you don’t feel like you’re “alone”.
I didn’t mean to imply Suits was still her PR. If I did, I apologise. I was merely stating that it’s unusual for someone in a new role to lament or to wishfully acknowledge something they miss. Usually it’s when someone regrets their decision they announce it. We had a client who quit her biggest role – it was a role which won her ‘fame’. She was bitterly regretful after a movie came out, and then she ended up stating how much she missed her old role. Big mistake. You’ve shot yourself in the foot there. We didn’t have any opportunity to try and contact her old film production agency or her agent to ask if they could persuade them. To have Meghan make an open comment about missing acting actually says a LOT about what her next motive is.
Secondly, I saw Thomas Markle appear in the news today! Ha! He’s such a character that man. And look – Meghan’s the victim! Poor Meghan. Doesn’t that just seem too good? Meghan’s back in the headlines – just by herself – after her disaster yesterday with Kate, and after the Trump visit. I didn’t read the articles, I just skimmed the headlines because it’s very much ‘lather, rinse, repeat’ with this PR cycle, but it’s interesting how they haven’t changed it up at all.
Finally, who her backer is, I couldn’t be sure. I always felt it had to be someone in the Mulroney family helping Meghan. Especially after Jessica’s family appeared in our list of PR contacts for interviews and photos. It just seems to be too convenient otherwise. Doesn’t she have a fashion brand? Some website?
Also, was Meghan invited by Ralph Lauren to yesterdays tennis? I only ask because my partner’s firm was able to get some of their clients in yesterday but it was thanks to tickets sent by Ralph Lauren! I just thought how unusual it is for Meghan’s clothing item – Ralph Lauren – to be highlighted on – funnily – the day when the majority of invites in to the Royal Box are there thanks to tickets from Ralph Lauren! Just food for thought. If you find or hear anything, let me know.
Just for fun, I had a read of a few of my partners clients on Blind Gossip! He works for a much larger firm, and needless to say, knows far more than he would ever let on. The few gossip articles I read were exactly what I was expecting. Whichever anon told you that Blind Gossip is PR is completely correct. They’re a backward way of promoting something or someone. It’s a sort of counter-PR. Most of the clients my partner has who were on there are also – like Meghan – projected as the villain. I had a quick read of Crazy Days and Nights which was fun. The latter seems far more truthful – a few clients are featured (from my partners team) with stories that neither of us knew about, whereas we knew the ‘gossip’ off of Blind Gossip. I’d therefore assume – but I cannot be sure, because I don’t work for either of them – that Blind Gossip supplies lots of PR firms or promotion firms, and their gossip is generated by countering PR articles. A win-win for both. They seem to work with the Daily Mail for what it’s worth.

Hello Skippy! I’m back – again! Ha! Who would have thought people would be interested in what I’m saying!?
I didn’t scroll to see all of the messages, so I hope I encompass everything in this one post – I promise it will not be as long or as tedious as the others (I hope…).
Yes, there is every possibility that they used our ideas or used and abused our time and energies and never wanted to go through with a deal or a contract. It’s why you don’t ever fully give them everything – but truthfully, it would explain why the PR reads like an amalgamation of random, slightly convoluted stories all competing for attention. Such as the “Meghan is a vegan and helping Harry to be plant based” story, followed swiftly by the “Meghan LOVES seafood – she’ll have to give it up when they get engaged!” followed even more quickly by “Meghan is vegan… in the week” and so on and so forth. It does feel a bit like a tennis match. IF they did decide to not hire anyone and approach all of these PR firms with no desire to push anything forward, then more fool them. It’ll never help. As much as I love America and my North American friends, they will never have a full grasp of British Culture and Heritage quite like someone who has lived, loved and been absorbing it their whole lives.
As to who could be paying for this? Honestly, no clue. The PR people we met with worked with Meghan on Suits, and many of them had overlapping aims with Suits, and truthfully, an article today appeared and made me think about whether they still are her primary PR. There was an article on the Daily Mail about how Meghan misses acting in Suits – did anyone see it?
I thought – given I hope I have been blunt about the murky world of PR relationships – that perhaps I would give you a short list of our “go-to” sites and magazines for our PR drive. OBVIOUSLY, each Client is different and each style or aspiration of the PR is different. But we currently have a number of Actresses on our books – much like Meghan – and these are the outlets:
- The Daily Express (incl. Sunday)
- Hello! Magazine
- Ok! Magazine
- Women’s Daily Magazine
- Daily Mail (esp. Femail – they’re often the biggest offenders for PR fed stories)
- The Guardian (for when we want our clients to appear “in touch” with the millennials who predominantly read the Guardian)
- Cosmopolitan
- Tatler
- Good Housekeeping (I HATE them – sorry. They’re pure ‘sugar’ as you would call them Skippy. You want an article in there? Send them anything and give them a cheque and they will publish it)
Sometimes we will use The Sun, but truthfully, most people who buy the Sun are NOT our core readers for our Clients. So it’s a waste of money and effort on our part.
I should also add something which maybe will put some people’s minds in to perspective. The rise in “Fake News” is an interesting time. We’ve been told for a good year now that “Fake News” is surrounded by us. Do you want to know who the pioneers of “Fake News” are? The PR firms and the PR teams. We CREATED “Fake News” to sell you the truth we want to depict. “Fake News” is both a PR generated concept and a result of dangerous PR games like the ones the British Royal Family and Meghan seem to be playing with. Fire with Fire, it seems.
I know I sound like I am promoting a dystopian image of PR, and truthfully, it’s a very trying job – I am looking forward to leaving it and going back to University to do a Masters – but when you think about “Fake News”, you will think of the Trump-Clinton Campaign. Right?

I’m sorry to do another post Skippy in such a short space of time, but I’m going to be stuck on this train for some time so I thought I would talk about the murky world of PR contracted relationships. My firm have a few experiences of those – I cannot obviously say which relationships, and several have even gone on to marriage and children via surrogates. When you work in personal PR, you begin to notice a lot of patterns of what is going on with someone. You notice each time they show their “real” selves, and every time they show their “PR” selves.
I admit, sometimes I do get thrown. I’ll be sat flipping through the papers and suddenly BAM. I’ll see a photo of Harry beaming at Meghan. And I’ll think “Gosh, they do look happy”.
If someone who makes their living in personal PR gets tripped up by these photos, then I imagine ALL of you look at those photos and just want to burn the house down.
But every time you see a photo, stop, and just look deeper in to the story. A PR contracted relationship is usually devised by multiple parties – usually, it will be PR firm(s) either paid for by the individual(s) or by whoever is wanting to gain from their publicity that a relationship could achieve.
Next comes the contract – yes, engagements, marriages and children are written in to some contracts. As are “fights”, as are “tabloid gossip” stories. Both sides agree on what stories can be published and cannot. Usually the stories are alternating – one week one part of the coupling will get an article about something to do with X, the next the other way round etc etc. It’s very repetitive.
But no story is believable without photos – amirite? You see a photo and it projects more than a story ever could. EVERY PHOTO YOU SEE PUBLISHED ON A TABLOID OR A NEWSPAPER IS SELLING THE NARRATIVE. I’m sorry to do that in caps, but I often forget it myself. They are never going to sell the truth or the foundation of the relationship when they make MONEY FROM PUBLISHING THE NARRATIVE.
I’m ashamed to admit that PR is a dangerous and disgusting world. It is one where you effectively take someone so weak, so needing of public affection, so mentally and emotionally draining, and sell them down the river.
I would imagine Harry and Meghan have some form of commitment contract. As in, how many events she may appear at – as a minimum – and how they are to conduct themselves. We write in to our contracts everything and we create storylines YEARS in advance.
Every smile, every kiss, every.single.thing is orchestrated by a group of people who are trying to sell a narrative. The question you need to ask yourselves is WHAT is the narrative they are wishing to sell and then work backwards.
It’s clear they’re selling a loving young couple. You bring out dogs. You bring out babies. You bring out uni photos. You talk about how lovely you were when someone was a baby or a toddler. You then bring up how X has changed Y for the better and vice versa. How they are “soul mates”. Any time you see an article refer to them as soul mates, just put it aside.
ANY RELATIONSHIP THAT REQUIRES THIS DEGREE OF PR IS NOT BUILT ON STABLE OR LOVING FOUNDATIONS. This is what I have learnt all of these years.
I do not know Harry, nor Meghan, so I cannot comment on whether this is a contract relationship. But honestly, if it isn’t, then they’ve got a pretty crappy marriage. It reads like a PR script.

As with all business matters if one party insists on receiving the lion’s share of the benefits at the expense of the other? That’s a breach of contract and is sufficient grounds for it’s termination. Coercion, physical, mental and/or emotional abuse would be another reason. It’s not acceptable in any kind of relationship, contractual or otherwise.

50 shades of deja vu? The few gifs I’ve seen of their stilted interactions remind me an awful lot of BC and SH. You know what’s funny? DJ and JD had to play the part of hawt sexed-up couple on film but reportedly hate one another IRL. I am not saying that BC and SH get along quite that badly but it’s pretty clear to me that it’s up the same alley as these two.
