What I want to know is how St Bart’s Hospital feels about one of their Clinical Trials Assistants publicising BC’s visit there on Friday. I hope it WAS in a professional capacity as, if not, her behaviour as an employee is embarrassing & unprofessional at best. No one working there should approach someone for a selfie & autograph & then publicise it – bad taste, insensitive & a gross breach of confidentiality surely? St Bart’s should know better.

Oh it was at St Bart’s? I did not realize that. But are you sure you’re not getting confused about different things?

If that’s the hospital it’s indeed curious and that leak may have been deliberate with his consent. FYI a biopsy is a standard diagnostic procedure and patients who participate in clinical trials have most often received or are receiving conventional treatment. I have little doubt that BC is indeed unwell but let’s also not forget about the importance of the narrative. This makes him look sympathetic and like even more of a victim. As an aside, did you know that St. Bartholomew’s was featured in two episodes of the BBC’s Sherlock?
