As the name implies, it’s a Cuban Combination of some of the biggest artistic talents in the UK.
Its bands of various formats, dancers and DJs offer a wide musical variety from danzon and traditional Cuban son to salsa and merengue styles, including funk and R&B fusion. This gives us the exclusivity and we’re sure that Cuban Combination is exactly what you need to liven yourself up!
(From the band’s website)
Apparently, according to @aeltrileaf Latinos are not into jazz. I thought that I would share a description of the band that played at Ronnie’s Friday 3/16. Oh look-there’s danzon, salsa, merengue! I also think that a guy who does yoga, stunts, works out, etc and a woman who can mime can figure out how to dance.
No-not defending anyone-Benedict and Sophie don’t need defending. But I really think that you can use a reality check once in awhile. And I need a break from tweeting about the rot that is settling in at Congress and the WH.
BTW @annashipper- that’s what I consider snark. Not your mean girls (and silly) insults and quite frankly out there claims! Entertaining though! Imagine-all the energy spent on some random photos in a coffee shop.
Oh-before I head off to sleep (worked last night)-my take on the train pics. I recognize the look on Benedict’s face. My Dad would make that face when my brother or I were being naughty. I’m pretty sure that little Christopher and Hal were nestled safely between their mother and the window, safe from prying eyes while able to look outside. There weren’t sippy cups, but a few of the containers looked like small bottles. Sorry @gatorfisch. Still like your blog-great political stuff and love the animals!
OK-1 more-I’m pretty sure that the Eye of Agomato was cleaned before putting it on Benedict and during filming. There’s no way that that particular prop would be slimy and infected with god knows what. Probably cleaner than his own pacifier!
I’m not gonna speak for Aeltrileaf, who actually IS a Latina, but here in the US we have the most Latinos of anywhere outside Latin America. Having grown up in Florida, I know a LOT of Latinos, including Cubans. But I don’t know any who do Jazz Salsa.
I live in the US-MA. I was pointing out that the band that played Friday night did not play jazz, but rather played styles that @aeltrileaf mentioned as authentic Latino dances. We have many Brazilians ( as well as people from other Latino countries) in my neck of MA so I’m somewhat familiar (but by no means fluent) in Latino music. Appreciate the comment!
Ah thanks for clarifying. So it sounds like the OP who “saw” them there doesn’t know what kind of music they were dancing to!
To the OP thanks but as someone with Cuban relatives and who has been to Europe? First, don’t act like an uppity gringo by lecturing Latinos on our own culture about which you really don’t know much. Second, the Latin Music scene in the UK leaves a lot to be desired. The people dance the same way (poorly) to pretty much everything that comes on, I’ve seen it. Same goes for what passes as authentic Mexican etc. cuisine over there. Not.Even.Close. Have you ever watched that cringeworthy video of the Dismals ‘dancing’ at the AA btw? There’s your reality check, the reality is that they have as much rhythm as fetch, which is to say none. I’m sorry if I sound testy but BC’s blathering about margaritas, piscos, ceviche, taco trucks and LatAm music coupled with his blatantly exclusionary behavior says: “I like your culture but not your people.” It’s called cultural commodification and we have a big problem with that Ben. Respeto por favor…
About those Cafe papshots? Bunny Yawn uses small handleless mugs for their coffee, those weren’t baby containers. BC arrived first, SoFail second and there were no loaner kids seeing as how they got caught red-handed last time they used one. There was, however, a woman who was neither a known Agent, the ‘Nanny’ nor the PA. She looked less like a friend and more like a Solicitor ;). Since OP is an obvious Troll I’m going to have to repost the photos of proofiness again:
