I don’t think you understand just how horrible and dangerous HW really is. I believe BC made a Faustian bargain with Uncle Harvey in exchange for a shot at an Oscar and a new ‘mature’ image. I don’t blame him for wanting to shake off the Ubers but the way he went about it was counterproductive. Furthermore, I think HW may have been more interested in an award than even BC was. BC is quite ambitious and driven but he is also naive. Remember that HW bought TIG rights and that BC had no say in that. HW probably sold BC on a typical RCGF dealio and BC (fool that he was) trusted his judgment. HW thought he’d throw SH a bone and shut her up that way. Once the fauxmance kicked off not only did HW start piling on the demands but SH went rogue. BC panicked because that was not what he had agreed to in the first place but they threatened him and he capitulated. He thought that would save his career but taking the fauxmance further has only caused it to decline…
