Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch is investing his millions in a property empire. The Old Harrovian star of The Imitation Game has reportedly viewed a £10.8 million house in California’s Hidden Hills. And I can reveal the 38-year-old has also splashed out £3 million on a North London house and a pad on the Isle of Wight, near the village where he married theatre director Sophie Hunter in February. If this has an iota of truth then BC has gots himself a bachelor pad in IoW. Or a place so they can keep up appearances as the ever so small town, we have connections with the church people they really are.

Isn’t he worth only 15 million? I wonder if he bought the IOW place a while ago in haste to be able to marry there, since you’re supposed to marry at a local parish, and he never was religious.

You make a good point, it expedited everything and it’s an investment. If BC purchased it ahead of time for the ShamWedding it’s not community property so SH can’t lay claim to it. She’d get half of the rumored Camden Town property though, 1.5 million quid which is a decent pay out.
