Narcissists use word salad as a form of gas lighting, to deter you from your point of view, to distract you from the truth, to redirect the blame back onto you. There are also many other reasons a narcissist uses word salad, but it is used ultimately to confuse and manipulate you, so they can gain the upper hand.
They also get supply (enjoyment) from watching you suffering in confusion.
