Paedophilia: Paedophilia is sexual activity with children or the condition of being sexually attracted to children (i.e. pre-pubescent children, including babies and toddlers).
Puberty: On average, girls begin puberty around ages 10–11 and end puberty around 15–17; boys begin around ages 11–12 and end around 16–17. The major landmark of puberty for females is menarche, the onset of menstruation, which occurs on average between ages 12 and 13. For males, first ejaculation occurs on average at age 13.
Age of Consent/Statutory Rape: Statutory rape is non-forcible sexual activity in which one of the individuals is below the age of consent (the age required to legally consent to the behaviour). I have used the legal definition (statutory rape) for sex with a minor. Note that the age of consent differs across the world and even within a country such as the USA.
Prostitution: Like the age of consent, this differs across the world. Basically, prostitution is the business or practice of engaging in sexual activity in exchange for payment. Like the age of consent, attitudes to and laws about prostitution differ across the world.
Human Trafficking: Human trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labour, sexual slavery, or commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. This may encompass providing a spouse in the context of forced marriage, or the extraction of organs or tissues, including for surrogacy and ova removal. Human trafficking is a crime against the person because of the violation of the victim’s rights of movement through coercion and because of their commercial exploitation. Once again, laws in different countries are slightly different.
Both paedophilia and statutory rape are abhorrent. but the act of paedophilia (e.g. sex with a baby, toddler or girl of 10) is not the same as sex with a minor (e.g. sex with a 14-year-old who has begun puberty). I disagree with some commentators that the former is a worse crime than the latter (because the latter is more acceptable and common it is perceived as a lesser crime).
Epstein was never a paedophile (although some media are using this term as a fact), but he did sexually abuse teenage girls (post puberty girls) and the authorities were able to gather evidence for him breaking the law with regard to prostitution and sexual trafficking (in the USA) and thus were able to charge and prosecute him twice. I don’t know why they never charged him with statutory rape (perhaps they did and I missed that) but perhaps they saw him as dangerous and unrepentant and unable to change and a statutory rape conviction would give him less of a sentence (but his first sentence was very minor so perhaps someone interfered during the trial).
Part 2: Sex offender… Or (ii) abusive sexual contact against a minor who has not attained the age of 13 years; (B) involves kidnapping of a minor (unless committed by a parent or guardian); or © occurs after the offender becomes a tier II sex offender.” United States v. Lowry, 2010 U.S. App. LEXIS 3624 (8th Cir. Ark. Feb. 23, 2010)
Thank you for this…..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Epstein was a paedophile and worse. Bones of children were found on his island, children that had been hunted for sport and ritually sacrificed. There is also documentation showing that he asked for girls as young as 8…
