Well, CH can’t abuse LH because he’d be toast so it’s likely he put up a front. TBH LH never struck me as being quite that nasty, she is shallow however and it’s for the best that BC broke it off with her. Auntie Hearst thought he was a pleb and would have kept reminding him of that much like KB still does…
