Women understand strong to mean powerful.
A woman in pain is a woman who clearly does not have the power to change the circumstances that cause her pain.
A woman who won’t ask for help likely has no reasonable expectation of receiving that help.
A woman who doesn’t rely on others is by default a woman who is unsupported.
It’s interesting how much of a coincidence this isn’t.
