I’m with Gator on this one, most vegetarians are pretty chill whereas vegans tend to be far more neurotic. When you break down their arguments for becoming vegan they don’t make much sense. I’ll give some examples: unless you employ hydroponic farming, guess what? Tilling alone kills millions of animals! Are the lives of those animals worth less than those of livestock? Did you know that alpacas and sheep both benefit from occasional shearing? That if too much honey builds up in a hive it causes the bees to store honey in the nursing cells which can make the colony collapse? Humans evolved as omnivores, we lack the ability that herbivores have to break down cellulose. We should respect our biology, work with it and give our bodies the nutrients they need. When you adopt an inadequate diet on ‘moral’ grounds you are essentially saying that animals are more valuable to you than your own species. Otherwise, how do you intend to protect the environment while providing food for 7.5 billion humans? Soy and wheat gluten are not adequate substitutes either! Don’t even get me started on the people who put their kids or worse yet their cats on a vegan diet. That should count as abuse…
