ISLAND’s debut album isn’t set to arrive until next spring, but I’ve been so excited about it since its announcement that I’ve already pre-ordered a physical copy of Feels Like Air from overseas. That’s how much this London quartet has charmed me these past two years. I’ve had them in my heart since their debut with Stargazer. Today, they’ve unveiled yet another fine tune from their coming record. The band waxes intensely heartsick on gravelly The Day I Die, a dusty raw, heartfelt wrenching indie rock song with atmospheric guitar rhythms.
Speaking about the track, the band says, “It often seems in our increasingly digital world people have forgotten how to live. The song is about finding the power to escape the mundane.” Debut album Feels Like Air arrives April 6th. Pre-order, here. I know it’s like, half a year before it comes out, but hey, never too early to purchase something you really want, right?
