We are not men of hate. But we must be men of justice. And justice dictates that those who killed and those who permitted murder are equally responsible before their victims, even if those who covered up the murders speak today of “double-edged politics” and “realism.” This is the kind of language we despise the most. There are not two politics. There is only one, and it is the one that makes a commitment. It is the politics of honor.

Albert Camus, Camus at Combat (August 22, 1944)
