Stop whitewashing adaptations of media meant to feature people of color and our narratives. Just a thought.
Stop throwing remakes to whatever producer’s kid/nephew/cousin/barber gave you the best compliment and actually scout new talent.
Instead of threatening to sue fan filmmakers and student filmmakers, cultivate them to be future creators.
Invest in small films with solid effort put into them rather than relying on blockbusters to carry your company.
Not everything needs to be a franchise
Maybe not make the same mistake 40x a year
And for the love of god, stop making movies designed to be Oscar bait. Stop trying to jerk off the Academy.
-actually, a few more things, specific in my mind from the tweet above:
Stop throwing creative teams under the bus in favor of hiring “Hollywood’s Hottest (Person).” Someone has to make them look hot/badass/whatever.
Start teaching people to write stories about people, not about fucking tragedies or war movies or whatever makes Those Top Critics get a filmboner.
Stop treating animation as a sub-par film medium.
finally: deport Adam Sandler/Seth Rogen/The Franco brothers
