Yes, a part of Oscar campaigns is maximum exposure, which includes pap shots, to get the actor on the minds of the Oscar voters. These particular shots don’t rate, however. They needed to be in a major US or UK publication. Not sure what went on there either.

It’s probably that the shots looked too posed for even the Fail to bother with them.  Hence the pulled picture of Ben being enthusiastic about ice cream…

The big tabs aren’t picky, any celeb pics increase exposure and make them money. Staged photos are actually pretty commonplace so that’s not a problem either but passing a rent-a-kid off as your own? Definitely is. Word got around that a propbb was used hence the embargo on the whole set. Whatever Bild paid for them was probably just enough to recoup the cost of the whole setup. You know you’ve hit rock bottom when even the Fail turns you down…
