Some of you may be wondering why I am so worried about some random tweet from some unimportant dude. I thought I’d take a few minutes to explain. From my own very personal experience with NPDs, I’ve seen this pattern of behavior too many times. It’s almost textbook NPD.
When a narc realizes they’ve lost control over their victim, they feel an almost compulsive need to destroy said victim. Some even take it so far as attempting or committing murder. Most, however, look for ways to ruin the victim’s life in the worst way possible. They do it in retaliation for the victim “ruining” their plans. Narcs ALWAYS play the victim. ALWAYS. They blame everyone around them (especially their victim) for their actions. So, what is Sophie’s best alternative?
- He’s a cheater!– There are several issues with this one. First, people hardly blink twice at cheaters in Hollywood. It’s almost expected these days. Second, Sophie has been caught cheating, more than once. So, it will look like they cheat on each other. And that doesn’t gain her sympathy. Third, There are already rumors that CCC isn’t Benedict’s . Painting him as a cheater just reopens that angle of attack for Disney
- He made her fake being pregnant for an Oscar!– PSFF pics and videos. “nuff said.
- He’s a neglectful husband and father!– See above two alternatives. Also, see everyone knows he’s a workaholic. It’s sad, but she knew what she was getting into
- He’s Abusive!- Sign. This one ticks ALL the victim boxes. It’s hard to prove he DIDN’T abuse her. Even if she attacked him and he was defending himself, he’d be seen as the aggressor. This would get her the MOST sympathy and doe the MOST damage to him. Given the attention being given to this issue, she knows there will be an acceptance of her claims within the general public. It also plays into her inherent need to be the victim. And let’s face it, most Tumblr blogs will immediately side with her and claim anyone trying to discredit her are “blaming the victim”, when, in fact THEY are the ones doing it. She can split the fandom into fractions really quickly.
I also want to clarify something right now:
Almost all claims of abuse are legitimate! The ONLY time I ever question it is when a known NPD is involved as the “victim”. THIS is one of those cases. We have almost two years’ worth of evidence that SHE is the abuser in this relationship. And I wanted to bring it up because I’m afraid that Disney has put it’s foot down and she knows her control is gone. So I fully expect her side to try to ruin Benedict. And I want to go on record NOW, before things escalate.
If Benedict and his team have ANY sense at all, they will cut off her access to him. NOW.
