Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch’s acting skills have made him the toast of Hollywood, but he might be advised to give up any grander ambitions.
The Old Harrovian set up a production company with three friends to make TV shows and films, but newly published accounts disclose it made losses of £177,000 in the past year.
The firm, SunnyMarch, has assets of just £21,000. It appears to have produced just one short film — starring Cumberbatch — which relied on funding of £86,240 from members of the public who gave through a fundraising website.
At the company’s launch two years ago, Cumberbatch declared: ‘We’re at an exciting juncture… we have scripts in development and books that we are looking to option.’

Well, based on the comments it looks like Squid got what she wanted. First premature CBE leak and now SM smear? This is not the work of BC’s PR. They are now officially at the devaluation-destruction phase of the narc/co-dependent cycle. This is going to turn out badly, especially now that she’s affecting other investors. Like most narcs SH doesn’t understand that her good fortune depends on that of BC. She resents him for his fame and yet that is precisely why she trapped him. She is setting out to ruin his reputation and by extension his career so that she can feel better about her mediocrity. Once that happens? She will leave him for another successful fool and the cycle will repeat itself. BC needs to act ruthlessly and decisively…and soon.
