I’ve worked in teaching facilities OK? He was seen with dressing in that general area on two separate occasions. It came out that he has EDS, deal with it. There are 13 EDS subtypes and it manifests in varying degrees. Some can result in progressive damage especially if the patient isn’t receiving the proper care. Please don’t tell me how X or Y lives with it, they may not even have the same subtype of EDS. Just because a person is high-functioning doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling with underlying health issues. Stop acting stupid and start being compassionate for a change…
ehlers danlos syndrome
Last year, we saw a mysterious bandage over his clavicle. Next we heard he had gone vegan. Now he’s skinny as a stick and doesn’t look well. Ben wouldn’t be the first celebrity to be fighting a life-threatening illness without saying anything publicly. I begin to fear that’s what’s going on, and it isn’t only Zero who’s stolen his smile.
Sigh. I hear you. But I’d bet money the stress she’s caused made things worse.
Thing is EDS can cause all sorts of complications and stress is particularly damaging to people who have it. He complained about arthritis before which already seems to be affecting his mobility as well as digestive issues including ulcers and that may be chronic like IBS. My main concern is possible heart problems, specifically valve issues, which are not uncommon in EDSers. Given the location of the gauze, it may have been placed after a Central Venous Catheterization or Pulmonary Artery Catheterization. PICC lines are used for chemo and tend to stay in place for a lot longer, not to mention that chemo makes you lose your hair so I doubt he’s got cancer. He started looking a little better in Italy only to lose weight again after he left so there’s a strong psychosomatic and environmental aspect to his health issues ATM. He gets stressed out with all of the unnecessary drama in his life, which causes him to lose his appetite and his GI tract to act up so that he can only tolerate a bland vegetable-based diet. A diet that is completely wrong for his metabolic type…
I have EDS and am also Buddhist. But not vegan. Lacto ovo veg, luckily my order and family approve. In general, an EDS person who is as active and in shape as BC needs quality protein for joint stability and muscle and tissue repair. (I play elite field hockey, lacrosse and badketball.) As you stated, EDS is not a character flaw, but id BC is going vegan, I srsly doubt he has EDS
Thank you for your informed opinion Nonny and I hope BC reads this :). Lacto-ovo is A-OK because you are still getting the nutrients that your body needs. BC may have temporarily adopted a vegan diet to get the right look to play PM during his drugged-up playboy phase. What worries me was the fact that PR made it seem like it was something more long term which would definitely be counterindicated for someone with EDS. I would recommend that he get in touch with Ehlers Danlos Support UK if he hasn’t already.

Dr. Alan G. Pocinki “Pseudo-psychiatric Symptoms in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome”
It’s mainly just the nans/cumberbitches talking about the vegan thing. Unless we hear him say it directly, most other fans don’t give a crap. Would love it, though, because it would mean maybe Martin rubbed off on him. But just because I go to a Bolly festival, doesn’t make me East Indian. They sound stupid, celebrating this.
It’s now also that DJ. That whole thing was weird. But while I think vegetarianism is a good thing, veganism is so bad for you in the long run. I know first hand what a B12 deficiency can do to you…it’s not pretty. And when you have to start taking all kinds of vitamins and minerals in pill form just to get your recommended dosage? You aren’t eating correctly. Food is life. Nutrition is important. Going against your natural biology is never a good idea.
Indeed:
- 80% of long-term vegans are deficient in vitamin B12, which is needed for proper mental function.(8) B12 deficiency causes dementia, cognitive impairment, depression, and degenerative mental disorders.(9) None of these are going to improve your sports performance.
The one diet fits all approach that vegans push ignores scientific findings. People with EDS have problems with their GI tract and malabsorption making this diet a recipe for disaster. EDS patients need to supplement as it is:

See that? It’s called: Adrenal Fatigue.
- All the hormones made by the adrenal glands are made with cholesterol. You must eat cholesterol-rich foods like red and white meat and full-fat dairy and eggs to produce hormones. In other words, vegan diets are not conducive to adrenal health and actually promote adrenal fatigue. Every cell in our body contains cholesterol.
I am so tired of people manipulating others into adopting lifestyles that are bad for their health! All because of some fanatical ideology, it’s not right.
